The famous Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II is a wonderful five story arcade covered along with a glass and metal ceiling. It is sometimes referred to as "the living room of Milan" as well as
"street under the glass". The construction of architect Giuseppe
Mengoni, made in the time 1865-1877, comes with the form of a square
cross.
This specific stunning work has carried the death of its
designer: while in building Mengoni fell from the scaffold and passed
away. Above it's protected having a dome of glass and iron. It is a
really eye-catching and unique architectural work that could be placed
in series along with the spectacular monuments from this time, designed
in Paris and London. It must be mentioned that virtually down
the middle of the gallery is one of the emblems of Milan, mosaic bull,
crafted on the ground.
There is also a belief that individuals who
should be able to scroll left leg at 180 degrees from the intimate spot
of this bull counter-clockwise and don't slip, are going to have desired
wish fulfilled. For that reason, within this very location hole is
made, as a result of heels rotation.
Inside the gallery there
are numerous bookstores, dining places as well as renowned stores
including Prada, Tods, Louis Vuitton and others.
